Haven of Rest

Verse1:          My soul in sad exile was out on life’s sea,

                        So burdened with sin and distress.

                        Till I heard a sweet voice saying make me your choice,

                        Then I entered the haven of rest

Chorus:           I’ve anchored my soul in the haven of rest

                        I’ll sail the wild seas no more

The Old Rugged Cross

Verse 1:         On hill far away stood an old rugged cross

                        The emblem of suffering and shame

                        How I love that old cross, where the dearest and best

                        For a world of lost sinners was slain.

Chorus:           So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross

                        Till my trophies at last I lay down

                        I will cling to the old rugged cross

                        And exchange it some day for a crown

Tag:                And exchange it some day for – a – crown ---

Verse 2:         To the old rugged cross I will ever be true

                        Its shame and reproach gladly bear

                        Till he calls me some day to my home far away

                        And his glory forever I’ll share.

He’s A Right Now God

Verse 1:         We talk about the good times that happened long ago

How folks would shout and glorify our Lord many years ago. We think that all that those good times are gone forevermore

But all we have to remember is my God has never changed.

Chorus :          Our God is a right now God; an on time God; a happening kind of God.

He’s the same yesterday, and forever and He never never changes.

He can save your soul and make you whole and won’t remember your sins anymore.

That I Might Know Him

Verse 1:         I stand amazed at the presence of Jesus,

`           By His power all things will be new.

I feel His power I sense His presence in this place.

That I might know Him.

I’m forgetting those things that are behind me.

I press toward the mark that I might know Him.

I’m in a straight betwixt going and staying.

To be with Christ and forever abide.

It’s All About Him

Verse 1:         Everyday we run to and fro.

We gotta go to work and get things done.

We worry about how much money we make.

We think that all that matters in life is how much we can get.

Chorus:           It’s not about you, It’s not about me.

It’s all about Him and what He’s done for me.

He gave His life so that we might live.

It’s not about you, It’s not about me, It’s all about Him.

It’s not about you, It’s not about me.

It’s all about Him and what He’s done for me.

He gave His life so that we might live.

It’s not about you, It’s not about me, It’s all about Him.

Verse 2:         Some day soon – The trumpet will sound,

And all God’s saints will then leave the ground.

It won’t matter then how much you have gained.

When you stand before the Lord on that day will He have your name?

God Really Cares

Verse 1:         If you are whipped with the briars of doubt

And you keep looking for a way out.

Just turn your eyes to God, He really cares.

When troubles come He’ll help you through.

He’ll lift you up and encourage you.

Just turn your eyes to God, He really cares.

Chorus:           God really cares. He cares for you.

When you need a friend, who at the end will guide you safely through.

Just look to God and ask Him for peace you’ve never known. He’ll give to you a brand new heart, for God really cares.

Verse 2:         When you are in a valley low,

                        And despair seems to be your load.

Just bow your head and make your plea,

To God for you know, He really cares.

God Will Provide A Lamb

Verse 1:         As Abraham led Isaac up Moriah’s hill.

He knew he was going to do his father’s will.

As he laid him on the altar and stretched forth his hand.

An angel of the Lord called out his name.

Chorus:           My son, my son, God will provide a lamb.

For unto you this day a sacrifice has been made.

There’s been blood shed for all who believe upon His name. This precious blood will wash your sin away.

Tag:                Wash all my sins away – Wash all my sins away

                        There’s been blood shed for all who believe upon His name. This precious blood will wash your sins away.

Verse 2:         A certain man had two sons, and the young one went afar. He took his share and wasted it away.

He began to be in want and laid with the swine.

Then he arose and said I’ll go back to my father’s side.

He’s Not Here

Verse1:          Now Mary and Martha sent for Jesus, saying Father if you’d been here our brother wouldn’t have died.

Now Jesus had tarried in the city for two days,

And when he arrived he found Lazarus in the grave.

Verse 2:         Now Martha said to Jesus I know whatsoever I asked of God He will give to me:

I’m asking dear Jesus for your resurrection power

And Jesus said to her thy brother shall live again.

Chorus:            He’s not here                      He is risen.

                                 (He’s not here            He is risen.)

He’s not here                    The stone is rolled away.

                                 (He’s not here The stone is rolled away.)

                        You don’t have to go to the grave to find it empty,

                        Come see the place where Lazarus/Jesus lay.

Verse3:          In the beginning when Jesus was born to Mary.

She wrapped Him in garments and gave Him unto God.

He covered him in righteousness and declared Him King of Kings.

Because He loved us He knew He’d be our sacrifice.

Verse 4:         Jesus was nailed to a cross between two thieves.

He had no sin nor guilty of anything.

He died for all who asked His forgiveness.

He arose on the third day by His resurrection power

Keep Going On

Verse 1:         Just like Job – An upright man.

He had the sheep, the cattle and the land,

But he kept going on for Jesus.

He begged to die but kept going for God.

He said my flesh may be destroyed, but I will see God.

And I know that my redeemer liveth.

Chorus:           Keep going on with Jesus.

Don’t turn away from Him.

He’ll be your dearest friend.

Keep going on with Jesus.

Though the light may grow dim.

Keep going with Jesus.

Tag & Mod:    Keep going on with Jesus

                        Though the light may grow dim,

                        I’ll always trust in Him

                        He’ll be your dearest friend

                        Keep going with ---- Jesus ---

Verse 2:         You can take away my houses and lands.

You can away take the works of these hands.

But give me Jesus – Just give me Jesus.

You can take away my hopes and dreams.

Take away the songs that I sing, but I’ll keep going on with Jesus.

Would You Serve God For Nothing?

Chorus:           Would you serve God for nothing?             Oh Yeah                 If He took everything?

                        Would you serve God for nothing?             Oh Yeah              If He’d nothing to give?

                        If He took all you had your family and friends and left you here to the very end.

                        Would you serve God for nothing?

                        If you’d nothing to gain?

Verse 1:         Well I went to a church the other day.

I listened to the preacher as he began to say.

All our mighty blessings come from God.

But I got to thinking ‘bout how good He’s been.

How He’s blessed and gave us everything;

I’d like to think I’d serve Him anyhow.

Tag:                If you’d nothing to gain?

                        Would you serve God for nothing?

                        If you’d nothing to gain?

Verse 2:         Now, Job was blessed he had it all.

A hedge about to guard it all.

But God said all he hath, is in thy power.

And Satan came, and burned the sheep his family and land he could not keep. But Job fell and worshipped God anyhow

He Couldn’t Cross the Bloodline

VS-1:               Angels saw the anguish and agony Jesus went through,

                        They presented their case before the throne.

                        But God turned His head in sadness because of sin His son bore,

                        And Jesus died and made a bloodline for us all.

Chorus:              He couldn’t cross the bloodline Satan was defeated

He couldn’t cross the bloodline of my soul

He wanted to destroy me,

But the angels protected me,

He couldn’t cross the bloodline of my soul.

VS-2:               Angels watched as Jesus commanded His spirit

                        Unto God and said, “its now in your hands.”

                        They knew He was in the tomb,

                        And they rolled the stone away,

                        And watched as he returned to Heaven, there to reign.

Repeat Chorus

Tag:                  Oh, precious is the flow- that makes me white as snow, white as snow;

                        He wanted to destroy me, but the angels protected me;

                        He couldn’t cross the bloodline,

                        No Gods grace was sufficient.

                        He couldn’t cross the bloodline of my soul.

What’s Wrong With Loving Jesus

VS-1:               In this day we live in we see many awful things.

                        People making fun of you for saying you belong to a king.

                        They laugh at serving Jesus or bringing your Bible to church.

                        But one day soon before too long they’ll wish they had too.

Chorus:            What’s wrong with loving Jesus?

What’s wrong with helping a man?

What’s wrong with reading your Bible?

What’s wrong with raising your hand?

What’s wrong with singing the gospel?

What’s wrong with telling the truth?

VS-2:               On that resurrection morning when our loved ones come from sleep,

                        We’ll be caught up in the air and together we will meet.

                        Those who are left behind that day for sure are gonna grieve,

                        They’ll wish that they had served the Lord, and kneel at His feet.

Late Night Sessions

VS-1:               Alone at night in the darkness we think no one is there,

                        My heart gets so heavy and it seems that no one cares.

                        I start talking to my father who’ll listen to my prayers,

                        And soon I find sweet peace and rest and leave my burdens there.

Chorus:            We’re talking ‘bout, late night sessions praying to the Lord.

                        Late night sessions, just me and the Lord.

                        He hears my cry, He hears my plea,

He comforts me when I’m on my knees,

During late night sessions, praying to the Lord.

VS-2:               Traveling down the long road going to and fro.

                        It seems like there’s no place that I can call home.

                        I start talking to my father, who’ll take my petitions,

                        And soon I hear my father say, “child leave your cares with me.”

Daddy’s Tears

VS-1:               I returned to my home the other day.

                        Where I lived as a child with family.

                        I knew the time would come,

                        When the Lord would call one home,

                        And I’d be dealing with my grief so selfishly.

Chorus:            Daddy’s tears said he wanted to stay;

                        Daddy’s tears said he knew he had to go.

                        Daddy didn’t want to leave us but he knew it was his time;

                        For the Lord required his soul that very day.

VS-2:               Daddy closed his eyes as we knelt beside of him;

                        We prayed to God above and asked that He would give.

                        The strength to carry on and get through each day.

                        For the Lord each day we want to live.

Count It All Joy

VS-1:               Blessed is the man that endureth temptation;

For he shall receive a crown of life.

                        The Lord has promised to them that love Him,

                        For they won’t be tempted of God.

                        For every good gift comes down from the father;

                        And wisdom only comes from above.

                        Sow seeds of kindness with peace and mercy,

                        And you can Count It All Joy.

Chorus:            Count It All Joy when you work for the Savior;

                        Count It All Joy when you’re in His favor.

                        For whatsoever ye ask in faith, nothing wavered.

                        For he that is like a wave of the sea,

                        Is driven and tossed with the wind.

                        So stand up in faith, trust and believe and with Jesus

                        Count It All Joy.

VS-2:               The Bible says speak not of evil.

                        And judge not our fellow man.

                        For he who lacks patience and grudges each other;

                        The Lord will surely judge.

                        Now we will not live here forever;

                        For as a vapor then we’ll vanish away.

                        So tell about Jesus and pray for each other,

                        And you can Count It All Joy.

He’s Coming Again

Chorus:            He’s coming again, in the twinkling of an eye.

                        He’s coming again, we’re gonna meet him in the sky.

                        We’ll work until the trumpet sounds and then we will be Heaven bound,

                        And  there we’ll live forever, for I know He’s coming again.

Verse 1:           Some folks down here don’t understand why we plan to go to church and sit and listen to the preacher and what he has to say. He tells about the Bible and how Christ died and gave his life. So we might live forever when Jesus comes again.

Chorus

Verse 2:           We worry over problems and things we can’t control; we won’t give them to Jesus and let the burdens roll. We can’t be like our savior if we don’t live in His favor and let our light shine for Him until He comes again.

Chorus

I Just Felt A Breeze

Verse 1:           Sometimes when troubles get you down and you don’t know which way to turn; you look around all over town and you see there’s no place to go. I have a friend who’s tried and true. With everything He’s all brand new. He’ll stir your soul put your name on the roll and His breeze will comfort you.

Chorus:            I Just Felt A Breeze, a Holy Ghost breeze, moving in my soul; I Just Felt A Breeze, a Holy Ghost breeze stirring in my soul. When the Lord starts to blessing and your cup over fills; Praise the Lord you’ll know it’s real; I Just Felt A Breeze, a Holy Ghost Breeze stirring in my soul.

Verse 2:           Now when you go to church in this modern day and you see how formal we are; we’re all dressed up in our proper attire and we don’t plan to sing in the choir. We’re afraid the Lord will come on the scene, we’ll have a desire to praise the king; so come on church put your hands in the air and feel His gentle breeze.

Repeat Chorus 3x

Give Something Back To God

Verse 1:           We pray for rain, famines, and quakes; violence, wars, and crimes. We think we can take on the world and control our own lives. We’re always asking for a favor and never want to give, but the Lord is  waiting for someone to say, “Can I give something back to Him?”

Chorus:            Can I give something back to God? Can I give something back to Him? We’re always asking and receiving and never consider Him. If you give a little something back, for all He’s done for you. You’ll see how He can bless you too if you give a little something back.

Verse 2:           We need to share the gospel story with everyone we know. Tis a wonderful story of Jesus’ lowly birth. How He died to save your life and how He was crucified. For all He’s done wouldn’t it be nice if you give something back to God.

Repeat Chorus twice

There Is Power In The Blood

Verse1:            Would you be free from your burden of sin?

                        There’s power in the Blood, power in the blood.

                        Would you ore evil a victory win?

                        There’s wonderful power in the blood.

Chorus:            There is power, power wonder working power.

                        In the blood . . . . . of the lamb . . . . .

                        There is power, power wonder working power

                        In the precious blood of the Lamb.

Verse2:            Would you be whiter much whiter than snow?

                        There’s power in the blood, power in the blood.

                        Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s flow.

                        There’s wonderful power in the blood.

Verse3:            Would you do service for Jesus your king?

                        There’s power in the blood, power in the blood.

                        Would you live daily, his praises to sing?

                        There’s wonderful power in the blood.

AT THE CROSS

Verse 1:            Alas and did my Savior bleed and did my sovereign die.

                        Would he devote that sacred head for such a worm as I.

Chorus:             At the cross, at the cross, where I first saw the light;

                        And the burden of my heart rolled away.

                        It was there by faith I received my sight,

                        And now I am happy all the day.

Verse 2:            Was it for crimes that I have done, he groaned upon the tree.

                        Amazing pity, grace unknown and love beyond degree.

Chorus

Verse 3:            Well might the sun in darkness hide, and shut his glory in.

                        When Christ the mighty maker died for man, the creatures, sin.

Chorus

I Want to Stroll Over Heaven

VS-1:               If I surveyed all the good things that come to me from above,

                        If I could count all the blessings from the storehouse of love;

                        I’d simply ask for a favor beyond mortal end.

                        I’m sure He would grant it again and again.

Chorus:            I Want To Stroll Over Heaven with you some glad day.

                        When all the troubles and heartaches have truly vanished away.

                        We’ll enjoy all the beauties where all things are new,

                        I Want To Stroll Over Heaven with you.

VS-2:               We’ll renew auld acquaintance with the friends we once knew,

                        Then we’ll meet all our loved ones:

                        And we’ll see Jesus too.

                        That will be a glad reunion and there’ll be much to view,

                        While I stroll over Heaven with you.

Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus

Verse 1:            Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word;

                        Just to rest upon His promise, just to know, “thus saith the Lord”.

                        And I know that thou art with me, wilt be with me till the end.

                        Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus! O for grace to trust Him more.

THE HEART OF GOD

Verse 1-                  As a potter spins a wheel and works the clay in his hands,

                        he shapes and he molds it; after his plan;

                        If he should mar and find a spot- he puts in back upon his wheel;

                        that’s  what Jesus does to me each time I fall.

Chorus            The Heart of God is filled with compassion.

He sees something in me that others don’t see;

He puts me back upon His wheel and fixes my vessel;

                        He will mold me into, what he wants me to be.

Verse 2-             So many times I slip and fall and I dishonor Him;

                        He picks me up and comforts me and puts me back on His wheel;

                        That’s when He speaks and breaks the clay and molds me back into His way;

                        That’s when I stop and realize I’m in the potters hand.

Chorus twice

After the Sonrise

Verse 1- Sometimes in this life our bodies are grieved with pain;

  We beg for mercy to help bear the load,

 and with His sweet anointing he’ll touch us to go on.

Chorus- After the Sonrise we’ll be going home.

  When Jesus steps out we’ll head straight to His throne.

Verse 2- Oh I can’t wait to get there oh the sights I will see.

 Why there’s so many loved ones who’ve gone ahead of me.

  We’ll sit down with Jesus and worship at his feet.

 Then we’ll get up and stroll down that golden street.

Chorus Again

                                    WALL OF FAME

Verse1- I used to visit grandma when I was just a kid.

 She told me all about her life and all the things she did.

 They walked to church and stayed there; all the day long,

 and when it was over you’d hear them sing these songs.

Chorus 1- In the sweet……. by and by …….we shall meet on that beautiful shore/

Just over in the gloryland, I’ll join the happy angel band/

I’m redeemed……… by love divine…….. glory, glory…….

Christ is mine………./When nothing else could help, love lifted me.

Verse 2- Now grandma loved her pictures. She cherished every one,

 and when someone would ask she began to carry on.

 A sentimental value; she hung them with no shame;

 as grandma would visit her precious Wall of Fame.

Verse 3- Now grandma’s gone to Jesus, I’m sure she’s having fun;

she’s singing and shouting and walking with God’s son.

 I’m sure if you could see her, walking along,

 she’s waiting for her family, her precious Wall of Fame.

Chorus 2 - Oh, victory in Jesus my Savior forever/

            GOD’S NOT OUT FOR A WEEK-END DATE

Verse 1-          We get dressed up to come to church

all the frills and high heels to make impressions,

 and get compliments. But we think we can’t stay long,

all we need is a prayer and a song

 and we’ll be happy Oh no, but we’re wrong.

Chorus-             God’s not out for a weekend date.

 We shouldn’t like to make him wait but we do,

 I’m talking about me and you.

 All he wants is your heart,

but we think if we give a little part he’ll be happy,

 Oh no; but he’s not.
